Halpern Story

The SHORT Story .....

On Martin Luther King Day in 1997 Les and Marianne Halpern purchased $2000 worth of remnant sheets of titanium and loaded their precious cargo into their Ford F-150 pick-up truck. The titanium joined thousands of tiny knifemaking stainless steel screws and sheets of G10 -  Les Halpern was officially in business selling supplies to custom knifemakers from around the world from his home in Monson, Massachusetts.  (Initially, these sales were designed to offset the costs of Les's knifemaking hobby)

Early in Les's new business, he met dozens of custom knifemakers. In addition to in-house designers, knife companies frequently purchased designs from these custom makers. Next step - our loyal knifemakers requested that the knife factories purchase raw materials from Halpern. Two years later we purchased our first CNC Machining Center and began machining private label knife parts in-house.

Fast forward to 2022 - Halpern keeps 30 CNC Machining Centers, Okamoto surface grinders, Berger bevel grinders, Flow waterjets and Makino Wire EDM flashing green lights all around the 30,000 square foot facility.

Due to TRM's (Halperns' knife company) exponential growth in the knife world over the last three years, Halpern Titanium will no longer be accepting any contracts for complete knives.

Halpern Titanium is known for a deep history in the knife world but we are more than a knife manufacturer. Check out Manufacturing Specialties. Call Marianne Halpern (413-283-8627 Ext. 102) or email mh@halperntitanium.com to discuss manufacturing of production parts and our waterjet services.
